Our journey began in Punta Cana, DR, where we all gathered without knowing that in just a few days, we would develop friendships that will last a lifetime. The journey we were about to embark on was about more than re-building houses an addition to a school, it was about building hope in a poverty-stricken community.
“Building an education center in Yamasa for children living in rural areas. Not only does education reduce poverty, but it boosts economic growth, increases income, increases a person’s chance to live a healthy life, reduces maternal deaths, promotes gender equality, reduces child marriage and promotes peace.”
Alyona – Miss Multiverse 2019
This trip was special because beyond the physical building, building hope for a better education and a better future for children is an admirable enterprise. Education is a great equalizer – one that guarantees a better future for children across this country and world.
